ArtMade Architects was engaged by a previous client to design a childcare centre in Dural. The design was for a single-storey childcare centre that needed to fit within the parameters of a pre-existing concrete slab.
Design response
We rose to the challenge to provide a creative design that achieved functionally and best design practice, and fit the existing slab.
In close collaboration with the builders, we created a high-end centre that also exceeded the client’s expectation regarding capacity.
This single-storey centre features parking and an extensive outdoor terraced play area.
Creating a child-centred concept
The design process was centred around the needs of the children, even with the constraints of the existing footprint. ArtMade prioritised creating an environment that fosters growth, learning, and play.
By integrating thoughtful design elements and maximising the available space, the team successfully delivered a centre that offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
Developing interiors
ArtMade worked closely with the builders to deliver a high-end, quality centre. The final outcome was a purpose-built facility featuring parking and an extensive outdoor terraced play area. Inside, the interiors were designed to be inviting and functional, incorporating modern design elements that enhance the overall childcare experience.
We were able to achieve this through the careful consideration of child-safe materials and tasteful colour schemes. This was exhibited through the layouts of the centre, such as the extensive outdoor terraced play area, which perfectly complements the indoor play spaces to ensure that the young children at the centre are safe and engaged.
