Monterey House
A long term ArtMade client approached the studio to design their family home. The client brief was simple, to design a modern home encapsulating the water views.
The design also needed to include generous living spaces for the client, his partner and their two adult children as well as a spacious rooftop entertaining area.
A central services core extends from the basement level right through to the rooftop, beyond this vast expanse of open plan living and entertaining areas taking advantage of the stunning views over Botany Bay.
Confidently addressing both street frontages, the large expanse of glazing captures the plentiful views allowing the natural light to dance around the interiors.
The design is contemporary, a combination of timber and render finish with lightweight modern construction.
Following negotiations with Bayside Council minor amendments were made to the concept, most notably a slight reduction in the size of the rooftop entertaining area.
